The Acclaim Axial is a compact high performance, cool beam ellipsoidal
profile with the power and precise beam control necessary
for front stage lighting from auditorium positions and
pattern image projections. The increased output of the
latest in compact filament
lamps, the efficiency of axial reflector systems and Selecon’s
custom optical design along with versatility of the variable
beam angle make the Acclaim Axial Zoomspot the choice for
the smaller to mid size stage.
The beam of the Acclaim Axial is easily shaped
using the shutters with their generous size handles.
The beam distribution is simply altered from peak to
flat using the rear planetary gear. To learn more about
light distribution across the beam click here.
The two interchangeable zoom optical ranges provide
for both longer throws from the suditorium to stage
lighting positions (18°- 34°) and shorter over
stage positions (24°-44°).

Also available in a white exterior,
high heat coating and interior black finish,
perfect for churches, hotels, meeting rooms and
other venues where the traditional black finish
may be inappropriate. |
Heat Management System
The Acclaim Axial heat management
system uses hot mirror technology that reduces the heat
in the beam to increase pattern life and colour filter
life. Colour balance of the light is managed by the selective
hot mirror filter resulting in a 'whiter' light.
Heat filtered from the beam is reflected on to the upper
lamp house heat sink.

The Acclaim Axial lamp socket and wiring are contained
in a separate compartment, isolated from the direct energy
of the light source by a substantial heat sink. Air moves
through the two zones dissipating the heat. Component life
is maximised, delivering lower maintenance costs.

Features
- INTERCHANGEABLE LENS SYSTEMS, no tools
required.
- BEAM ADJUSTABLE from smooth and
flat for gobo projection to high intensity peak distribution
for stage washes.
- UNIQUE, EASY TO USE and precise
adjustable beam peak/flat mechanism.
- AUTOMATIC DISCONNECTION of the mains
supply when the back is removed for relamping.
- MOUNTING SLOT for iris, pattern
holder or motorised rotating pattern effect.
- CAPTIVE SHUTTERS offer wider degrees
of masking control.
- EASY FOCUS ACTION which
minimises damaging lamp vibration due to Selecon’s
unique posi-slide lamp and lens focus system, incorporating
brass and engineering plastic bearings to avoid same
metal-to-metal contact.
- SAFE, with mains isolation via microswitch
when the back is removed for lamp changes.
- PATTERN HOLDERS ROTATE IN THE GATE for
fast image alignment. The pattern is held securely
around its circumference by a spring clamp to minimise
heat distortion of the image.
- ALUMINIUM EXTRUSION AND PRECISION DIE-CASTING construction
give strength and style.
- LUMINAIRE SHIPPED with colour frame,
suspension bolt set and short form manual.NB: Lamps
are not supplied, please specify your requirements
with your order.

"chosen
for their small size, excellent light output,
beam quality and robust "student friendly" design."
Fanshawe College
Theatre Arts in Southwestern Ontario already
has a Theatre Technology program, and extensive
campuses but attendance and demand for space
is high.
When the college further expanded its arts
offerings by adding a new Theatre Arts acting
program in London Ontario, there was nowhere
to put it within existing facilities.
After an extensive search , it was decided
to lease space at an existing downtown shopping
mall that had some vacant retail spaces.
An extensive renovation resulted in a small
but effective mini-campus, featuring a "Black
Box" studio theatre.
Having to work within a building originally
intended for retail, resulted in a stage
pipe grid at only 12' above the studio
floor.
Jack A. Frost Ltd. provided design-build
services for the studio grid and the theatre
lighting & sound systems.
Selecon Acclaim Fresnels and Axial Zoomspots
were chosen for their small size, excellent
light output, beam quality and robust "student
friendly " design. |
